GIVING TREE ESSENTIALS
Giving Tree Essentials began as a love for nature and the healing power of aromatic plants. I dove deep into the pool of self-inquiry. I began to unravel my ego, got heart centered and started to focus on the larger truth- we are all connected. Throughout my studies in Ayurveda, aromatic botanicals, yoga, yoga nidra, meditation and massage I hold the heart felt desire to share the teachings from a place of loving kindness.
I devote myself to connecting to my true nature, living joyfully, and being a guide to those who are seeking to cultivate enlightened health and wellness.

YOGA, iREST YOGA NIDRA AND MEDITATION
YOGA IS... the stilling of the fluctuations of the mind. Patanjali's Yoga Sutra's, an ancient text, dates back at least 4,000 years and has been a guide to many seeking inner-peace and higher consciousness. The Sutra's, or threads of knowledge, describe the 8 limbs, or pathways to Yoga.
Yoga interweaves wholistic healing and self-inquiry practices such as - restorative yoga, gentle stretching, breath work and meditation. This harmonious blend nurtures a safe space to be with the body, breath and mind. From this ground of being one may experience deep relaxation and a renewed sense of well-being.
iRest: iRest is a simple, pure and direct form of deep meditation that is rooted in ancient yogic and nondualism traditions. It is a mindful based approach to meditation that develops resiliency, task focusing, mindfulness of sensations, emotions and thoughts and a tool to profound self-awareness and healing. Persons of any age, race, sex, religious background, physical, mental or emotional handicaps or traumas can learn, enjoy and heal with this meditation practice.
Yoga Nidra: A transformative state of deep relaxation. The teacher guides you into a conscious yet deep sleep where you are able to access, and learn from, your inner awareness. You will in effect experience a meditative state without having formally ‘meditated’.
Co-Meditation/Dyads: A meditative inquiry practiced 1-1. The teacher enables a deep inquiry through a range of prompts, enabling the practitioner to face hidden emotions and then step back to observe them from a place of deep, resolute awareness.
Bodysensing: By focusing on the body the mind is calmed and a deep, effortless state of relaxation (or ‘meditation’) occurs. There is no ‘forcing’ of oneself into a relaxed state.
Pranayama/Breathwork: Using various breathing exercises to cleanse and calm the mind and body. The breath is a doorway into stillness; a point from which to enter that which is beyond the breath.
Restorative Yoga: Restorative yoga is a healing and restorative practice that requires no muscle exertion in order to realign the spine and promote health in body and mind. Restorative practices use bolsters, blankets, and blocks to prop students in passive poses so that the body can experience the benefits of a pose.
I specialize in the iRest Yoga Nidra protocol, created by Richard Miller, PhD. iRest is short for Integrative Restoration Institute. Founder Richard Miller is a well-respected author, yogic scholar, teacher and clinical psychologist. Research trends say it is effective in alleviating PTSD, insomnia, anxiety, chronic pain, depression and chemical dependency. Fluid, intuitive and strongly rooted in eastern therapies. Specializing in Ayurvedic, Japanese and Chinese bodywork the intention is balancing the life force energy known as prana, qi or chi of the person as well as specific energy lines known as nadis or meridians. Our major meridians are named for the individual organs that they are associated with.
Through various assessment tools I am able to tune in and align the body both physically and energetically. The nurturing qualities of all therapies offered combined with the focused intention of health and healing create a harmonious session.
Abhyanga: Abhyanga Therapy is a restorative, nourishing therapy that comes from the timeless natural medicine system Ayurveda. A warm herbal oil blend is applied to the body in a soothing and rhythmic therapeutic Ayurvedic massage. Every oil therapy uses authentic oils and herbs which are carefully selected and customized for you. These herbal infused oils focus on detoxifying your body and eliminating the stored-up cellular waste. Health and longevity depend upon the proper nourishment, assimilation and elimination of the body tissues as well as the mind. Improper metabolism and circulation causes waste products to accumulated in the different systems of the body, such as the nervous, circulatory and muscular systems. Through proper oleation and massage of the entire body, the metabolic and enzymatic functions are stimulated to assist the body to detox, reducing stress and allowing it to work at its optimum potential.
Zen-Touch Shiatsu: Derived from the ancient Japanese Shiatsu, Zen-Touch offers both “hands off” energy work as well as the use of hands, knees and elbows to apply pressure on specific points along the meridians, compressions and passive stretching techniques. The intention is to unblock the flow of life energy and restore balance in the meridians and organs in order to promote self-healing. The gentle and rhythmic treatment brings about a sense of relaxation while stimulating blood and lymphatic flow. The benefits of this treatment may include pain relief and a strengthening the bodies’ resistance to disease and disorder.
Tui Na: Originating in Traditional Chinese Medicine Tui Na was often paired with acupuncture and chiropractic treatments for moving blocked and stagnant chi. Stimulation of acupressure points, oscillation (vibration), press and pull techniques directly affect the flow of chi through meridians or energy channels in the body. Specific treatments to address disorders of the spine and joints, such as, knee, low back, sciatica, TMJ, TMJ, neck, elbow, wrist and rotator cuff problems.
Restorative Massage: Combining various techniques and an intuitive touch, soft tissue manipulation aims to relax muscles, rehabilitative techniques such as acupressure and myofascial release are utilized to relieve targeted areas of pain and injury of soft tissues and joints. Best for reducing stress and inducing a deep sense of relaxation.
It's All Energy: Through my studies and own self-healing I gathered a unique variety of practices that I use during my bodywork therapies. My intention is to tune in to the body and explore the energy present. I believe you are your best healer, think of me as a translator and together we can create change.
